Save on your insurances for studying in the USA

For Indian students, following part of your studies in the United States has never been more popular. In case you want to study in the US, it is important you start your preparation in time. A good health insurance with repatriation is one of the most important element you will have to arrange.

Which insurance do I need?

As an international Indian student or intern, it is essential to have a good international student insurance. This is especially true for the United States, where health costs can be significant. Furthermore, your visa requires you to have proper insurance as well.

Insurance waiver
Importantly, some US colleges and Universities have mandatory insurances. These insurances are often very expensive. It is possible in most cases to ‘waive’ this requirement by providing a suitable alternative. StudentsInsured offers a cheap alternative to your university insurance with the GBG Tiecare Global Advantage student insurance.

If you don't have a mandatory insurance or waiver, you will still need an insurance which will meet your visa requirements.

What if I already have a health- and/or travel insurance?

In general your Indian health and travel insurance plans do not provide sufficient coverage for your studies in the United States. Your institution will exclude regular travel plans and i.e. require an American claims handling office. Furthermore, your travel insurance has a duration limit of 30, 60 or 90 days of consecutive traveling applies. In other cases, non-recreational trips are excluded from coverage, which means that you don’t get any coverage during your studies abroad.

The GBG Global Advantage Insurance can meet all the requirements of your university and can help you save up to 40% on your insurance costs. This policy also ensures that you are properly covered to meet your J1 & F1 student visa requirements.
